- How to use these pages
Start with the first paragraph. It names the area, the period, the figure and the allowance around it. The single most useful habit on this site is to read the period: coverage is January 2026 and line performance is July 2025, and they answer different questions.
The checker tells you what is published for the area a postcode sits in. It does not tell you what your own line does, because that figure is not published and we will not estimate it. For your own line, use a speed test or your provider's address checker.
In the tables, availability and take-up are both percentages of all premises in the area, so the difference between them is meaningful. A percentage of covered premises is a different base and never appears beside them.
Speed bands are listed one by one with their own averages. Do not add them together or average them: without weights, the result would be a number Ofcom never published.
Where a cell is blank, the publisher suppressed it because fewer than five active lines sat behind it. Blank means withheld, not zero.

What this does not mean
What this page does not show
since 2024 we no longer report on speeds at postcode level
the figures provided here can be compared with the ones reported in 2024 but are not directly comparable with the ones from earlier years
We only include output areas with speed information for at least five lines
