This site carries no advertising and no analytics. We set no tracking cookie and build no profile of visitors. Looking up an area tells us nothing about you, because nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.
The checker on this site does not look up your line. It reads published figures for the area you name. It does not test your connection, it does not contact your provider, and it cannot see what service you have.
The published files behind these pages describe premises and active lines in aggregate. They contain no names, no addresses and no household details, and we add none. We hold no address file and no property identifiers, so there is nothing here that could be resolved to a single home. Ofcom's own suppression below five active lines is kept exactly as published.
If you want to know what your own line does, run a speed test with your provider or use the provider's own address checker. That is a different kind of measurement from anything on this site, and we do not try to stand in for it.
