Release updates

This page records which Ofcom releases are in use and what changed on our side.

Current state. Coverage and full-fibre take-up: the January 2026 files from the Connected Nations update for Spring 2026, in the corrected postcode version issued in July 2026. Active-line performance: the July 2025 files from Connected Nations 2025. No newer release has been accepted, and we do not publish a figure from an unaccepted version.

Row-count checks against Ofcom's own published counts passed for every accepted file, with zero tolerance: 495 rows for the United Kingdom and nations, 361 authority rows in each of the three authority files, 238,864 output-area rows and 1,741,096 corrected all-premises postcode rows. Internal checks on this release: 137 passed, none failed.

One comparison is recorded as not comparable and stays that way. Ofcom's headline figure for average active-line speed across the United Kingdom cannot be checked against an unweighted aggregation of our band figures, because the bands carry no weights. We print the status rather than a difference.

Coverage updates arrive with Ofcom's publication cycle, which is annual with interim updates and occasional corrections.
