Coverage of the data

Two periods sit side by side on this site, and they are not interchangeable. Coverage and full-fibre take-up are the January 2026 position, published in the Spring 2026 update, with corrected postcode files issued in July 2026. Active-line performance is the July 2025 position, published in Connected Nations 2025.

Coverage is published for the whole United Kingdom, for each nation, for local authorities and for postcode index rows. Full-fibre coverage is only published at authority level and above, so it never appears for a postcode or an output area. Northern Ireland comes from the publisher's own rows, as everywhere else.

We hold no geography of our own. There is no postcode-to-authority lookup, no boundary file and no address file behind these pages. If Ofcom does not publish a row for an area, this site has no page for it.

Row counts in the files we accepted match the independent counts in Ofcom's own guides exactly: 495 rows for the United Kingdom and nations, 361 authority rows in each of the coverage, take-up and performance files, 238,864 output-area performance rows, and 1,741,096 all-premises postcode rows in the corrected version.
